They are not sewn in yet, but I can just see that it is all going to look pretty good. That's a relief because the shape of those panels was pretty tricky to figure out: increases on one end and short rows on the other, all the while maintaining lace pattern... Yeah... So I'm glad they wroked out. I just hope it won't be too bulky in the center where the panels overlap. You know I'll let you know :) (btw, the big picture is the closest in color to the real thing)
Here's what's left:
- sew in the front lace panels
- sew shoulder seems
- pick up and knit around armholes
- weave in all ends
- put away for next summer (booo! - that's the worst part: after all this time, I won't even get to wear it this year :( Unless we get lucky and get at least one beautiful summery day this Indian Fall)
Now I want to knit mine again to make the front like this. Gorgeous! And so much better than the original pattern. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! Yours looks great, too. But if you do decide to change it (or make another one), I will be posting details on my modifications once the top is all finished.
DeleteI love the front you made for this sweater! Gorgeous!
