Finished Projects

______________________________________________________________________

I have knitted all my life.  Well, maybe not all, but almost.  Probably since age six or whereabouts. I would knit with passion for the longest periods of time, and then take a months- or even years-long break to pursue other crafts, but always come back with renewed interest and zeal.  I would knit with or without patterns or created my own (not always successful) designs.  Used yarns thin and thick. Luxurious and much less so.  Knit for myself and others.  Created sweaters, tops, bags, shawls, scarfs, gloves, gauntlets, hats, socks, tablecloths, placemats, doilies and probably other things that I can't remember. In lace, cables, intarsia and simple garter or stockinette. From patterns in German, Polish, French and English. Wow! That's a lot of knitting, now that I put it all in one paragraph :) A lot of it happened BB - "before the blog" so I don't have pictures off all my creations. But what I do have I'm sharing below.

I have to admit the majority of the garments are not my original designs (and I am working on adding sources of patterns).  But they do represent my skills, my love of knitting and my preferences for classic, well-fitted garments with interesting textures and details.

  1. These are really unique designs. I don't know where to stop. I like this one. I like that one; and that one. Etc., etc.

    What do these designs cost?

    1. Thank you! But to clarify, not all of these are my designs, and they are not for sale. I may consider taking on a custom order, so please contact me via email if you are interested in a particular design: izabela (at) uniquedizigns (dot) com I am planning on offering some of my original creations for sale in the fall - please come back then and check under the "Store" tab.

  2. Forgive me, but I don't understand why your would put other people's designs on your blog without giving them credit and letting us know how to purchase them. I would luv to make so many of them. Marilyn p-k in Tucson, AZ

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I totally understand your frustration - I, too, get disappointed when I see a gorgeous design without a name or link to the pattern. As you may have noticed, some (most) of the garments do have the designer's name and link. Unfortunatelly others pre-date the blog and I did not keep good records as to what patterns I used. It is my goal, though, to eventually have all the designs labeled, and to give the designers the credit they deserve. Your comment prompted me to try to do that sooner rather than later so thank you! Do check back later and I may have more info for you.

  3. Thank you. I came upon your blog today and fell in love with your "re"thinking of the Sea glass Shell. You have inspired me to take it on this summer. I am in a wheelchair and the silhouette is like myself, daring, unexpected and provocative in all the ways that keep us "re"thinking what is truly beautiful! What makes us unique. I will try to send pics of finished. Thank you again. Isabelladonna.

    1. Welcome to the blog! I love your comment and totally agree. What we choose to knit and wear is an expression of who we are, and if we can modify it to make it even more unique, that's even better. Good luck with the project and do send the pictures!
